Qwil Awarded ISO-27001 Certification

13 November 2020  |  Laurent Guyot

Network Platform Technologies (trading as Qwil) today announced that it has been awarded ISO 27001 certification, a widely recognized international standard outlining best practices for information security management systems (ISMS).

"Not only does this certification validate our commitment and investment to the highest level of security standards, but it also signals to our customers, partners, and future customers that Qwil takes the protection of any information and data seriously," said Laurent Guyot, CFO at Qwil.

Being certified in ISO 27001 means operating and continuously improving an information security management system (ISMS). Certification illustrates that Qwil business processes, technologies, and people provide confidentially, integrity, and availability of all information.

Qwil's ISMS has been certified by British Assessment Bureau , a UKAS accredited certification body offering the “gold standard” in ISO certification.

"The ISO certification is yet another example of the many steps Qwil has taken to help our global customer base comply with regulatory requirements, following our Cyber Essentials plus certification in August 2020" said Laurent Guyot, CFO Qwil.

ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard that mandates numerous requirements and controls for the establishment, maintenance, and certification of an information security management system (ISMS). The standard ensures that organisations have established methodologies and a framework for business, people, and IT processes to help identify, manage, and reduce risks to the security of information.

The British Assessment Bureau is a UKAS-accredited certification body: The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole body appointed by the UK Government (the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) to provide accreditation to certification bodies in the UK. This accreditation is considered to be the ‘gold standard’ in the certification of ISO standards and the only way that an organisation can use the coveted Government-backed national accreditation symbol – commonly referred to as the “UKAS Crown and Tick”.

UKAS evaluates certification bodies on an annual basis and, in doing so, provides an assurance of the competence, impartiality and integrity of conformity of those certification bodies. In UKAS’ own words they “check the checkers”.
